A volunteer non-profit organization is paying tribute to fallen Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Weist. Beyond The Call of Duty stopped at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office yesterday in Galesburg to honor Weist. The visit is part of the End of Watch Ride to Remember, which travels across the country honoring officers who died in the line of duty. Weist was killed while trying to stop a fleeing suspect in 2022. The suspect, Daylon Richardson, was convicted and sentenced to mandatory life in prison.
