Dinner and a show are taking place this weekend at the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth as the sanctuary will transform into Uncle Phil’s Diner 2: Badger Homecoming 1957, shares Cathy Sheagren:

“Uncle Phil’s Diner 2: Badger Homecoming 1957 and it is a sequel to a play that we did about six or seven years ago at the church at it takes place in 1957. The just of it is that it is Homecoming night and at the high school where they normally would hold their celebrations, someone has exploded a cherry bomb in the girls’ lavatory. So, they have to move the whole Homecoming thing to Uncle Phil’s Diner. The wait staff is brought in. It is a dinner theater, so we will serve a meal during the show, and it is full of great 50s music, a nice little message. It is just a ‘Leave It to Beaver’ kind of night.”

While the event is for a free will donation, reservations are needed for food preparations, which can be done by calling 309-335-2848. Uncle Phil’s Diner 2 will be held at 6 pm both Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st, and at 1 pm Sunday, September 22nd.
