Havana Man Charged with Solicitation of a Child

Sheriff Jack Harlan announces the arrest of Kevin A Cooper 32 y/o B/M from Havana, IL on  September 24, 2024 at approximately 09:03 AM.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office Investigators had gained information that Cooper was communicating with a 15 year old minor and traveled to Galesburg to have sexual acts with the minor and bring the minor marijuana.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office Detectives intercepted Cooper after he rented a hotel room and was enroute to pick up the minor.

Cooper was taken into custody and booked into the Knox County Jail and charged with the following:

Solicitation to Meet a Child

Traveling to Meet a Child

Indecent Solicitation of a Child

Grooming

Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

No Valid Driver’s License

Sheriff Jack Harlan puts out this message to make parents aware of their children’s social media accounts and who they may be communicating with.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
