With the end of the summer season, the Buchanan Center for the Arts is wrapping up a project in Roseville. Program Coordinator Rebecca Quick has worked alongside Debbie and Dan Taflinger to showcase the community. Executive Director Kristyne Gilbert explains the mural:

“On the mural you will see bits and pieces of history; the water tower with the rose, you will see a reference to, of course, our strong agricultural community, you will also see some businesses that have been highlighted, and some fun things that are going on in the community. The bowling alley has really renovated their space. It is a community event center, a real gathering spot, as well as the ice cream shop, and then other bits and pieces that when you think of Roseville that come to mind; some historical spots, some of the architecture, and it has just been a real joy to work with them to put together a real piece that is actually a destination spot. Also, when you go up to it, it looks like a thought bubble, what people think of the community, what you thought maybe when you visited, and you can take a photo opt with it.”

The mural is located on the corner of Main Street and Penn Avenue in Roseville, Illinois.
