Former Alexis Village Clerk Facing Forgery Charges

The former village clerk for Alexis is facing two felony charges: class 1, theft of government property and class 3, forgery. According to the Warren County State’s Attorney’s Office, prosecutors have accused Jenny McKeown of stealing more than $10,000 but less than $100,000 from the Village of Alexis.

The class 3 forgery charge is connected to conduct between May, 2022 and January, 2025.

In Alexis, the clerk’s position is appointed rather than elected.
