Just over a month after Hurricane Helene devastated communities across the Southeastern United States, communities are still picking up the pieces from the destruction left behind. Erwin, Tennessee is among the towns washed away by the hurricane. Laney Rogers, Erwin FFA Treasurer says through this experience, the Erwin FFA chapter has remained active by helping the community.

“Our chapter has actually been able to come together and volunteer at two different farms in the community and help them clean up and rebuild,” says Rogers. “We’ve also helped at the high school, which has been crazy to see the classrooms that we’re used to dreading going into, are now full of bunches of supplies. But it’s nice to see our chapter come together and be able to volunteer and help those in need.”

The Erwin FFA chapter recently attended the National FFA Convention through a sponsorship from National FFA.
