Ger O’Donnell and Trevor Sexton will perform a live concert with their folk duo project called TRASNA on Wednesday, October 30th at Bishop Hill Creative Commons, located at 309 N. Bishop Hill St, Bishop Hill, IL. The show will begin with a potluck dinner at 6PM, with music starting at 7PM, and is open to guests of all ages. A $20-30 donation is suggested.

Ger O’Donnell from County Clare and Trevor Sexton from County Limerick, have been captivating audiences individually and with other groups with their rich and diverse musical offerings for years and it wasn’t until rather recently when they began performing together as the Irish folk duo known as TRASNA. Ger had found an audience for videos he was uploading online and one day decided to invite Trevor into his studio for a collaboration. Immediately the group realized they not only enjoyed the collaboration, but that their styles complemented one another beautifully. Shortly thereafter, the two decided to abandon their other music endeavors to focus solely on performing as a duo. Both singers and multi-instrumentalists, O’Donnell and Sexton are known for their exceptional skill with a range of instruments including guitars, piano, double bass, banjo, whistle, flute, and several unique, less conventional instruments. Their innovative approach to traditional folk music has resulted in six chart-topping hits in Ireland, solidifying their place in the contemporary folk scene.

Their extensive touring across Europe has further cemented their reputation as a dynamic and versatile act. TRASNA’s live performances are celebrated for their energetic and heartfelt delivery, seamlessly blending traditional Irish melodies with a fresh, modern twist. The duo’s ability to traverse diverse musical landscapes while maintaining their folk roots has garnered them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim, making them one of the most exciting acts in the folk genre today.

The group recently performed on a cruise alongside Joanie Madden, of Cherish the Ladies fame.
