Recently, members of the Monmouth-Roseville FFA chapter traveled to Indianapolis to attend the 97th National FFA Convention. One highlight of this year’s convention, explains chapter treasurer Camden Johnson, was watching the chapter’s former president, Kendyl Kane, receive her American Degree.
“Kendyl was a really big part of our chapter while she was in high school. And she was actually our female advisor while we were on the trip, she was the chaperone for the week,” says Johnson.
The American Degree is the highest honor awarded to FFA members who have demonstrated commitment to the organization. Kane was one of 197 candidates from Illinois who received their American Degree at this year’s convention.
