The Western Illinois University Softball team hosted its second annual Hit-A-Thon fundraiser over the weekend, raising $20,650. The event was held at Mary Ellen McKee Stadium on Saturday, October 5, and raised more than double what the inaugural event produced in 2023.

“I am so excited for the team! They really leaned into this fundraiser and went above and beyond,” said Head Softball Coach Alisa Goler. “We owe a special thank you to our WIU softball families/friends, alumni, members of our athletic department, and WIU faculty. This was truly a joint effort from the Leatherneck community. We cannot thank those that donated enough for their support. We hope to see those that helped us out at a game this spring!”

The money raised will be allocated to various aspects of the softball program, including supporting the team’s travel and competition costs throughout the 2025 season. Goler is committed to developing the next generation of Leatherneck Softball, both on and off the field, and this successful fundraiser is a testament to that commitment.

WIU Softball expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all participants and supporters who made this year’s Hit-A-Thon a resounding success. If you missed this year’s event but would still like to make a donation, please click here.
