What started off as something to knock off the bucket list in 2020 has turned into a new business for auctioneer Thad Tharp. Tharp recently launched Tharp Auction Service after years of experience working with local auctioneers such as Van Adkisson and Kyle Kelso.

“Growing up in Roseville, I was a half a block from where Van Adkisson used to have his sales at the old gymnasium. I would drive my mom nuts enough on Saturday mornings, that she would say, just go to the auction and leave me alone,” says Tharp. “So, I would go down, and I’d ride on the tailboard of his little auction cart all through the gym and just listen to him sell all day. And I guess, you know, subliminally, that tied something into me that I just really enjoy it. Fast forward to today, I love going to auctions, I’ve been fortunate to help Van and Kyle Kelso over the last several years.”

Tharp Auction Service offers both in-person and online auctions covering real estate, estate, farm equipment, and antiques.
