On the ballot for the upcoming General Election, Warren County voters will see the resolution on whether to have the City Clerk’s position be an appointed position rather than an elected position. Mayor Rod Davies explains:

“We do have a resolution on the ballot in November for appointing our City Clerk; instead of making it an elected position, have it an appointed position. We feel that is important because the City Clerk is an administrative position, doesn’t set policies or any rule making, it is about managing the minutes, information requests, all of the City’s records and minutes, and all of the ordinances, things like that. We are in the process of training on of our administrative staff that has been working with Susan for some time and we feel that providing them with the training, we can hire a good, qualified person that is ready to go to work when Susan retires at the end of April.”

Early voting is ongoing at the Warren County Courthouse. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th.
