Ernest J. Grabowski, 94, of Fisher, IL, passed away on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, at home.

He was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Chicago, a son of Ernest S. and June L. (Rorabaugh) Grabowski. He married Doris Damewood on December 29, 1955 in Monmouth, IL; She survives.

Ernest entered the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years. He worked civil service at Chanute Air Force Base as a mechanic and instructor until the base closed in 1993. He enjoyed watching westerns, working on cars, reading and watching football. Most of all, he loved spending time with family.

Surviving Ernest is his wife, Doris of Fisher; two daughters, Vada (Terry) Jenkins of Fisher and Brenda (Jeff) Reinhold of Champaign; four grandchildren, Jennifer, William, Sara and Megan; and a great-grandson, R.J.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; and one grandson, J.D. Stone.

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove, Rantoul, IL.  A second visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Graveside Services will be at Noon at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the local arrangements.
