At the latest United Board of Education Meeting, there was discussion on adding handicap accessible parking, following a presentation from Kristi Murdock, informs Superintendent Tom Hawkins:

“A wonderful member of our community, Kristi Murdock, came and spoke to us about the lack of accessible, ADA parking, handicap parking, at each of our campuses. We actually put our architect to work to try to upgrade our ADA parking at each of one of our facilities and that was a presentation to the Board and the Board said to go ahead and move forward with that. It is something that we are going to do through a School Maintenance Grant with the Illinois State Board of Education.”

Superintendent Hawkins says the School Maintenance Grant is a matching grant up to $50,000 toward the project.
