Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 10, 2024:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week junior girls swimmer, Hayden Johnson. Hayden qualified for the IHSA state finals in Westmont, Illinois after earning a victory in the Peoria Notre Dame sectional meet. She won the 200 yard IM race with a time of 2:12.43. Hayden nearly qualified in two events, as she was edged out by a mere .12 seconds in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior volleyball player, Rosie Flynn. Rosie was rewarded by the Lincoln Trail Conference head coaches for her valuable play on the court this season. She was one of five Red Storm players named to the All-Conference team. Rosie was placed on the Lincoln Trail Conference 2nd team after being second on the team in total kills and blocks.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore swimmer and volleyball player, Becca Hinshaw. Becca had a doubly good week last week. She qualified for the IHSA swimming state finals in Westmont, Illinois with a sectional win in the 50 yard freestyle. A 2-sport standout, Becca also got the news that she was voted to the All-Lincoln Trail Conference Volleyball Honorable Mention team.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls swimmer, Lily Furrow. Lily will end her season exactly where she wanted to be….in the IHSA State Finals in Westmont, Illinois. She won the 100 yard butterfly race at the Peoria Notre Dame sectional meet. Lily was almost heading to Westmont in three events, as her 200 yard medley relay team placed 2nd and she was runner-up in the 50 yard freestyle race.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Ayden Boone. Ayden was rewarded for his play in the trenches on both sides of the ball this past season. He was a 2nd team All-LincolnLand Small School Division offensive lineman. Ayden was also named the 2nd team defensive lineman list.
