Glennis G. Klein, age 89, formerly of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, in Danville, Illinois. She was born June 11, 1935, near Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Christian and Cassie Ketelsen. On February 28, 1959, she married Delbert Klein in Burlington, Iowa.

Ms. Klein attended nursing school and originally worked in the healthcare industry but spent the largest part of her career conducting inventory for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Iowa. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crafts, travel, and meeting with the Bethel Lutheran Church Women as a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of Stronghurst.

Survivors include sons Reed (Julie) VanderSchel of Putnam, CT, and Dolan (Susanne) Klein of Savoy, IL; one daughter, Mary Cook of Bloomington, IL; seven grandchildren, Melinda, Jason, and Julia VanderSchel, Sarah and Jessica Cook, Parker and Samantha Klein, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters, and two brothers. 

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in  Stronghurst, with interment to follow in the Stronghurst Cemetery, with Quentin Peterson officiating.
