Macomb Structure Fire Under Investigation

At 2:33 PM, Tuesday December 3rd, 2024, the Macomb Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 821 S. Ward Street Lot 15 for a mobile home that was reported to be on fire. The first arriving units arrived on scene at 2:37 P.M. and observed smoke showing from the trailer. The on-duty crew began an interior attack and located the fire in the kitchen area and subsequently extinguished it. Overhaul was completed and the fire was deemed under control at 3:08 PM and all units cleared the scene at 5:07 PM.

No firefighters or civilians were injured.

Smoke alarms were sounding at the time of firefighter’s arrival; however, no one was home at the time of the incident.

The structure sustained fire, smoke, and water damage throughout and has an estimated loss of $25,000.

The fire cause is undetermined and remains under investigation by the Macomb Fire Department.

Six on-duty Macomb Firefighters initially responded, and four off-duty firefighters were called in to assist. Thank you to Macomb – McDonough County Communications Center, Macomb IL Police, Lifeguard Ambulance Service of Illinois, and Ameren IL for their assistance with the fire.
