Marjorie June Hawk, 83, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on December 26, 2024 at Legacy Estates Nursing Home in Monmouth.
June was born on June 12, 1941 in Mt. Sterling, IL, the daughter of Lyle S. and Helen L. (Linz) Clark. She was raised and educated in Cameron, IL, and graduated from Monmouth High School.
June married Victor L. Hawk on April 15, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, IL; he preceded her in death on September 15, 1997.
June was a homemaker for many years, caring for her family. She later served as the Dietary Manager for Cottonwood Health Care in Galesburg until her retirement. June enjoyed playing bingo and the occasional trip to the casino with her family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Survivors include her children, Brian (Linda) Hawk of Gilbert, AZ, J. E. (Lisa) Hawk of Cedar Rapids, IA, Michelle “Shelly” (Trenell) Wallace of Queen Creek, AZ; her grandchildren, Tim (Shuntell) Hawk, Nicki Hawk, Allyson Hawk, Dawson Hawk, Kinzey Hawk, Anthony (Alicia) Wallace, Daesha Wallace; her great-grandchildren, Keylee Hawk, Sophia Hawk, Vivian June Wallace; her siblings; Will (Alice) Clark of Monmouth, IL, Ruth Ann Olson of Monmouth, IL, Robert “Bob” Clark of Cadillac, MI, Ed Clark of Abingdon, IL. Also surviving is her special sister-in-law, Chris Hart of Kirkwood, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband; her brothers, Richard “Dick” Clark, Gerald “Jerry” Clark; and one sister, Barbara Jean Sloan.
June was known for her sassy and spicy nature. Her spirit will be missed by all.
Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Monmouth, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of life will immediately follow the graveside at Meks on Main (201 North Main St, Monmouth, IL 61462). Memorials can be made to AR Inclusion and can be sent to the funeral home.
