The Monmouth College men’s basketball team has gotten off to a great start to the season. Following an 80-73 win over Eureka in a non-conference game last Wednesday, the Scots are (7-2) overall and (2-0) in the Midwest Conference. Monmouth has been led in scoring by former Peoria Quest High School standout, Zay Brown. Brown is averaging over 15 points a game and is also leading the team in rebounds per contest at 7 per contest. The Scots will play at Aurora on Dec. 30. The next home game is at 3 p.m. on New Year’s Day against Rockford at Glennie Gym. Conference play kicks in on January 4th for an important match up on the road for both the Monmouth men’s and women’s basketball teams. Here’s Monmouth College SID Nathan Baliva with more on the upcoming basketball schedule.

The Fighting Scots women’s basketball team is currently (4-6) overall and (1-1) in Midwest Conference play. The four wins for the women are already double the amount of total victories from last season.
