Rodney E. Goodwin, 66, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away early Thursday morning of December 26, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born July 16, 1958, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Everett and Betty (VanDeMark) Goodwin, Sr.

Rodney is survived by his son: Joshua Eugene (Michelle) Goodwin of California. He grew up in a tight-knit family of siblings, that include brothers, Steve (Mary) Goodwin of Cameron, Illinois and Everett (Tracy) Goodwin Jr. of Galesburg, and his sisters, Cynthia Cummings of Peoria, and Debora (Al) Hubbard of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Malia and Kalani Goodwin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mike, and his sister Diane.

Rodney attended Galesburg schools and was a painter by trade. He had a love for playing pool, serving on many pool leagues in the area.

At Rodney’s request, cremation will be accorded. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 11, 2025, in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Rodney’s name to the Knox County Humane Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting his family with arrangements.
