With the new Science and Technology Center officially open and hosting students for classes on the Carl Sandburg College campus in Galesburg, more construction projects are planned for 2025, explains President Dr. Seamus Reilly:
“We have a couple of major construction projects, the first of which will be the Chargers Center, which will be an athletic and convention center. We don’t have any place to hold large gatherings on campus, we don’t have a place to hold commencement. We are hoping to begin the conversation about the design process soon and then go ahead and move forward in 2025. The second project is a new administration and academic building, which would take most of our teaching spaces, a couple of specialty design spaces like our theater and a place for better art classrooms, and additional improvements of the overall landscape, green spaces, and navigation, as well as removing some of the buildings. We are also in the process of renovating the Downtown Annex piece in Galesburg and hoping to have workforce development continuing education classes there.”
Additionally, Dr. Reilly informs Carl Sandburg College has received an S&P A+ positive rating.
