A record 2024 for Big River Resources was accomplished with 437 billion gallons of ethanol production and around 150 million bushels of corn being ground. CEO David Zimmerman looks to have that trend stay for 2025:
“We are getting a nice corn rally here since harvest. I know we are buying a lot of corn for January, February, and March. Farmers, god bless them, we were below cost of production quite a while here on these corn prices and now funds have been buying this corn market and we have pushed this up to a spot where a lot of operators are seeing they can break even, make a little bit of money there, and they are selling corn pretty aggressively, so it has been a good thing. We are buying a lot of this front-end corn, and our grind capacity is such that once we get x amount bought, we can only grind so much. Guys looking to sell additional corn, I would encourage them to look out into the April, May, and into June time slots. We are looking forward to 2025 and want to set more records next year.”
Zimmerman states that Big River Resources looks to continue debottlenecking their plants in 2025 and producing even more ethanol in an efficient way.
