On Saturday, February 8, the Tri-County Cattlemen’s Association will host its 2025 Annual Meeting at the Barn at Fairview Acres, featuring keynote speaker Rob Sharkey, the Shark Farmer. Sharkey is a grain farmer from Illinois who is known for his radio show, TV programs, podcast, and keynote appearances.

“It’s going to be a story of how I started out in farming, and I immediately was on the verge of bankruptcy because of mistakes that I made. It was not a fun time; it was not a good beginning,” says Sharkey. “I openly talk about all the things I screwed up because we in ag don’t like to talk about that. But I think it’s important that people feel like, ‘Hey, when I make a mistake, I’m not alone.’ You know, we have been able to overcome it by some very unique circumstances. Plus, I’m remarkably funny, so that’s always good to hear.”
