Mr. Louie M. Anderson, 89, of Galesburg, died at 6:34 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in the Monmouth Nursing Home.

He was born on December 22, 1935, in Mexico, Missouri, son of Lawrence and Velma (Perry) Anderson. He married Mary Anderson on February 24, 1963, in Monmouth, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Mary; his two sons, Russ (Sherina) Anderson of Galesburg and Will (Kathy) Anderson of Monmouth; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lawrence Anderson, Robert Anderson, and William Anderson.

Louie graduated from Monmouth High School in 1954 and went on to work for Gates Rubber Company for many years. He was a regular contributor to the Review Atlas in Monmouth and the Galesburg Register Mail and Zephyr. He enjoyed spending his time writing about religion and politics. Louie was a member of the former Prairieland Baptist Church in Galesburg and Road to Freedom Baptist Church.

Cremation will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg. Private burial will be at a later date in Warren County Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Monmouth to benefit their food pantry.
