United Red Storm Boys Basketball Readies for Lincoln Trail Conference Schedule

Basketball season has went pretty well at United High School, so far. The Red Storm girls currently have a winning streak of 13 games and are (14-1) heading into 2025. The Red Storm boys are (9-4) and have been victorious in 6 of their last 7 games heading into the second half of the season. Even more icing on the cake is both teams won their United Holiday Tournament, going a combined (9-0). Also like the Red Storm girls, gamewise, the boys had the entire holiday break off. When they get back on the court on Saturday at the Sandburg Shootout against Illini Central, it will be 17 days since they lost to Monmouth-Roseville at the Great Western Shootout in Abingdon. That loss stopped a 6-game winning streak. Red Storm boys head coach Jason Lancaster says he’s pretty pleased with the first half of the regular season schedule. But he also says he’s looking even more forward to the second half. The January-February portion of the schedule is loaded with games in the Lincoln Trail Conference, including a big one on January 10th against a solid Galva Wildcat squad at the Fieldhouse at United High School.
