United Red Storm Girls Basketball Will Look to Bounce Back from First Loss Since November

Share

The United Red Storm girls basketball team suffered their first loss in 16 games dating back to November 19th on Monday. The loss that night was to the state’s 2nd ranked team in class 1A, the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes. The Red Storm let a double digit lead slip away in that loss as turnovers plagued the squad in the second half. United had a chance at redemption last night as the Tornadoes came to town for a Lincoln Trail Conference match up at the Fieldhouse at United High School. This time around it was cold shooting that was the undoing. The Red Storm, who average between 5 and 6 three-pointers made per game, was not able to nail any shots from behind the arc. A-Town gets a 42-23 victory to improve their overall record to (17-3) and remain unbeaten in Lincoln Trail Conference play at (4-0). United drops to (17-2) and (3-1) in LTC play. Red Storm head coach Chris Olson says his girls need to put this loss behind them, but also learn from it.

The Red Storm girls won’t have much time to dwell on the loss, as they hit the road to (9-8) Ridgewood on Wednesday night for another Lincoln Trail Conference contest.
