The Monmouth-Roseville Titans have had a much needed break in a very difficult regular season slate. The Titans are (10-9) overall on the season. They were at (8-5) before heading to the Macomb/Western Holiday Tournament, where they finished (1-2) for the week. The schedule since the turn of the calendar to 2025 has been filled with teams well above .500. Although the Titans have played well at times, they are (1-2) in those three games. That run has included a Saturday afternoon win against perennially solid Stanford Olympia at the Sandburg Shootout, as well as a road loss against class 4A United Township and at home against (15-2) Sherrard. Monmouth-Roseville actually led Sherrard 22-14 at the halftime break before a hot-shooting second half Tiger team came back to win. It’s been a full week since the loss to Sherrard since the Titans have been back on the floor in a game situation but head coach Chuck Grant, back on the sidelines after three years away from the program, says maybe that’s a good thing at this point in the season.
The Titans get back on the floor on Friday night on the road at (13-5) Rockridge for a TRAC West Division battle against the always formidable Rockets. They continue a difficult stretch of the schedule by going on the road on Saturday night for a non-conference match up against (13-3) Macomb. We’ll have both games on Sunny 97.7 WMOI with tonight’s pregame show at 6:40 and tomorrow’s WMOI pregame show at 6:10. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 against the Rockets and 6:30 on Saturday night against the Bombers.
