Mary Eloise (Brinkley) Ross, 97, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Good Hope and Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 8:35 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Naples. She was born January 4, 1928 in McDonough County, the daughter of Ray and Alice (Detrick) Brinkley.

Eloise married William Verne Ross on September 29, 1946 at the Good Hope Methodist Church with Reverend O.H Meyer presiding. They resided in Macomb Township where they farmed for over 40 years, later moving into Macomb. They spent many winters in Florida and later moved to the Ft. Myers and then Naples area. They had celebrated 74 years of marriage before Verne preceded her in death on December 8, 2020.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters; JoAnne (Dean) Meyer and Janice (John) Coffey; three granddaughters, Amanda (Kyle) Ruden, Jennifer Coffey, Vicky (Billy) Idoni and two great-grandchildren, William John Idoni and Madelyn Grace Idoni.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother James Brinkley and son-in-law Dan Parke.

Eloise was a member of the Macomb Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron while residing in Good Hope. She enjoyed traveling, baking and decorating wedding cakes and painting china. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

A private family service was held in Roseville, Illinois. Interment took place in the Good Hope Cemetery. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, was in charge of the arrangements. For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit our website at www.moorememorial.com
