Seven candidates are running for four open positions on the United Board of Education. The United Education Association is hosting a Board Candidate Open House to give the community and opportunity to meet the candidates ahead of the Consolidated Election on April 1st, shares Superintendent Tom Hawkins:
“Our United Education Association is actually hosting that, and it is going to be at the Buchanan Center. This is not a school, district sponsored activity. Hopefully we get a good turnout by the community to meet some of our perspective candidates and some of our existing candidates. We have four positions open and of those four positions, three of those candidates, from my understanding, are going to run again and then we also have four additional, so seven total candidates for four spots. We are blessed. That is something that I can say for a small district, that is truly a blessing to have that many people that want to be involved.”
The United Board Candidate Open House is on Wednesday, February 26th from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Buchanan Center for the Arts in Downtown Monmouth.
