The Monmouth College men’s basketball had the weekend off as a part of their Midwest Conference bye week. The Scots are currently all alone in first place in the conference, a half game ahead of Grinnell College, 2.5 in front of Illinois College and 3 up on Cornell College. The Scots have already clinched a spot in the conference tournament by knocking off Illinois College at home in their last outing on February 5th. The win broke a 5-game winning streak by IC over Monmouth. Monmouth College SID Nathan Baliva said the atmosphere at Glennie Gym was as electric as its been in several years. With the goal making the conference tournament checked off the list, the Scots look to attain their next goal, a regular season title and the tournament top-seed that goes with it.

Monmouth welcomes their nearest and oldest rival to town on Tuesday night, as the Knox College Prairie Fire come to Glennie Gym for a womens/mens double header. The two schools will meet for the second time in just 10 days, as the Knox women won the first game of the night and the Fighting Scots men gained a split on the night for Monmouth with a victory in the nightcap. We’ll have tomorrow night’s double header on the PCSN. The pregame show for the first game is 5:10, with the women tipping off at 5:30. The men will follow at around 7:30. You can hear both games on AM 1330/FM 95.7 WRAM, online at radiomonmouth.com or on our free 1330 WRAM app for smartphone or tablet.
