This award began at Macomb Police Department in 2012. The award is bestowed upon one police officer annually in recognition of those qualities which distinguished them as a professional in the field of policing. The award shall serve as proper recognition among fellow officers and the public for this individual’s dedication to duty, outstanding job performance, unsullied moral character, exceptional community/civic leadership or service, and professional police image.

This year’s Officer of the Year has exhibited dedication, outstanding performance, resolve, and service since the beginning of her commission at Macomb PD, just about two years ago. This officer has been recognized for outstanding performance in connection with a violent domestic investigation. She displayed exceptional empathy and fortitude during two critical use of force calls in 2024. This officer is eager to assist in both investigations and patrol operations. In her spare time, she assists with Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #189’s community outreach such as the Scott Jennings Fishing Tournament, Blue Line Ball, and the Shop with a Cop event.

I am proud to announce, the Officer of the Year for 2024, is …. Officer Korri Cameron.
