The Monmouth Police Department is looking to add to their team. Police Chief Joe Switzer shares the requirements of becoming a police officer:

“You have to be 21, have a valid license, and a high school diploma. We send them through a medical screening. They do a physical agility test, which they actually will do a second time before they go to the academy. They do a polygraph examination. They do a psychological examination. Once they make it through all those stages, and we have offered them the job, then we sent them off to the academy.”

A fully staffed Monmouth Police Department consists of a Chief, Deputy Chief, two Lieutenants, three Sergeants, two Investigators, one Task Force Officer, and ten Patrol Officers.
