Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 16, 2025:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Nick Huston. In two games against stiff competition last week, Nick averaged 11.5 points. He was also a force on the glass, averaging 7.5 rebounds in those two contests. Nick pulled off a double-double against Illini West, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Alexa Anderson. Alexa put a number in just about every possible stat column in a Lincoln Trail Conference tournament 3rd place win over Knoxville. She tied for the team lead in scoring with 14 points. Alexa also had four rebounds, two steals, a blocked shot, an assist and a 3-pointer in the victory.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman boys basketball player, Graham Kelly. Graham put on a great back-to-back performance in a pair of LTC games against Princeville and Stark County. He averaged nearly a double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Graham hit that mark with 12 points and 11 rebounds against Stark County.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is freshman boys basketball player, Cesaire Bile. Cesaire has been much more assertive, especially on the offensive end, as the regular season winds down. He poured in 23 points, pulled down nine rebounds and had two blocked shots in a conference win over Geneseo. Included in those 23 points were two thundering dunks.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman boys basketball player, Ryker Darst. Ryker had a big hand in back-to-back wins against a 20-win Annawan squad. He scored 10 points and pulled down five rebounds in the first victory against the Braves. In the LTC Tournament semifinals, Ryker scored 12 points and went 5-7 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter.
