Barbara (Nau) Maxymczak, 50, formerly of, Rapid City, SD, Kirksville, MO and Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 2:20 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She was born December 16, 1974 at Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, NH, the daughter of Michael J. Nau and Audrey J. Mazula. She was raised and educated in Rapid City, SD.

Barb married Duane Maxymczak in June of 2004 in Macomb, IL, and he preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are; parents; one son, Hunter J. Maxymczak of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Alexei J. Maxymczak of Monmouth; brothers, Michael S. Nau of Rapid City, SD, Nathan (Jamie) Adkisson of Roseville, IL. She was a special aunt to Sean Nau of Hot Springs, SD and Payton, Paxton and Palmer Adkisson of Roseville. She is also survived by her best friend Robin Aldridge, of Queen City, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Maxymczak; step-father, David Adkisson; grandparents, Norman G. Nau and Margaret Leonard; Joseph Mazula and Mary Catherine Uravish.

Barb worked as a CNA/CMT in the healthcare field for 34 years. She enjoyed being a caregiver and socializing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to her children’s education fund and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
