Mrs. Beverley J. Linn, 93, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 9:18 pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at her home.
Beverley was born January 26, 1932, in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Yale and Helena F. (Calfee) James. She married Jack Phillips and together they had two children, James and Janice. She later married Paul A. Linn in Galesburg on March 2, 1963. They had a daughter, Paulann. Paul preceded her in death on February 5, 1995.
Beverley is survived by her children, James A. (Louise) Phillips of Batesville, Mississippi; her two daughters, Janice A. (Jim) Johnson and Paulann F. (Greg) Washabaugh both of Knoxville, Illinois; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul and two sisters, Belva Freml and Bettye Pachter.
Beverley graduated from North High School in Omaha, Nebraska in 1949. She worked for Galesburg School District 205 as a teacher’s aide for thirteen years. She later worked for the Mary Davis Detention Home as a teacher’s aide for eleven years, retiring in 1998.
Beverley was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville where she served on the Altar Committee and church council. After retirement, Beverley volunteered her time with FISH Food Pantry for over nineteen years.
Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 pm, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:45 pm in Linwood Cemetery with Vicor Nathaniel Knutson officiating.
