Donald G. “Butch” Noble, age 82, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at Roseville Nursing and Rehab on Sunday March 23, 2025. He was born on May 5, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa and is the son of John Nelson and Sara Katherine Dowell Noble. “Butch” was raised in Oquawka where he attended local schools and graduated from G & O High School in the class of 1960. After his schooling, Donald entered the United States Army where he was a Spec E-4 serving from August 21, 1963 to July 28, 1966. “Butch” first worked constructing steel grain bins. He then worked at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown, Iowa for a number of years. After that Donald was employed by Gale Products in Galesburg and then Gates Rubber, also in Galesburg. Butch loved sports and their results and was an avid sports better and it’s trivia.

Surviving is Donald’s special friend Leslie Carnes in Smithshire, Illinois. He is preceded in his death by his parents and several cousins. 

A graveside service and military honors is planned on Thursday March 27, 2025 at 10:00 am in the Oquawka Cemetery of Oquawka, Illinois. A memorial fund is being established for the Honor Guard of the VFW and American Legion Post 136. Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois is in charge of his care.
