Myrtle Marie Kee, 73, of East Galesburg, died 5:16 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Seminary Manor.

She was born Monday, August 20, 1951, in Peoria, the daughter of Harry and Ruth McKeel. She married Donald Brooks.

She is survived by her son, Timothy (Taylor) Charles of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Jaidyn Stancomb, Jemma Charles, and Jade Charles; a sister, Melanie Robson of Gary, Indiana; and cousins, Sunae Spurlock, Ronee Collins, Loretta Joachim, Howard Burnett, Marvin Burnett, and Chris Burnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Myrtle graduated from high school in East Peoria. She worked in restaurants during her working years, and also was a dog breeder when she was younger. Myrtle was a member of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed cooking and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
