Mrs. Patricia A. Ryden Baumgardner, 58, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:02 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

She was born November 28, 1966, in Galesburg to Richard S. and Joceile J. “Jody” (Knutson) Ryden. 

Surviving is the love of her life for 46 years, Ronald Baumgardner of Galesburg, a daughter, Erica Baumgardner of Galesburg, a mother in law, Sheryl Steagall of Galesburg, two brothers, David A. “Tony” Ryden of Galesburg and Kevin E. (and Tracey) Ryden of Galesburg, a half-brother, Michael E. Ryden of Galesburg, a step sister, Melissa Banks Galliger of Indiana, two grandsons, River L Yard and Logan N. Baumgardner, and nieces and nephews, Chad Gustafson, Brandi Gustafson, Danielle (and Danny) Valdez, Dustin Ryden, Randi Ryden, Jake Ryden, and Ashley Ryden.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard S. Ryden, Joceile H. “Jody” Banks and her stepfather, Chet Banks, a son, Joshua N. “Gator” Baumgardner on March 6, 2021, two brothers, Richard L. “Dick” Ryden and Jeff Ryden, and a sister, Annette Gustafson. 

Patty attended Galesburg Schools.  She was a C.N.A. at Marigold Nursing Home and Seminary Manor Nursing home for ten years.  She then was a secretary and salesperson for E and I Audio in Galesburg for ten years.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church when she was younger.  She enjoyed wedding, baby shower and party planning and baking and decorating cakes for each event.  In her free time, Patty would enjoy relaxing with a good book.  She was very creative and enjoyed crafting and loved putting Legos together with her grandson, River. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral services will follow at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the chapel.  Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate.  Cremation will follow the funeral service.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Online condolences can be shared at www.h-p-w.com
