On the April 1st Consolidated Election ballot, one of the proposition questions for voters’ states that ‘in addition to school facility purposes, shall Warren County school districts be authorized to use revenues from the tax commonly referred to as the school facility tax that is currently imposed in Warren County at a rate of one percent for school resource officers and mental health professionals.’ Monmouth-Roseville Superintendent Ed Fletcher explains what this proposition means if passed:

“If approved by the voters, it would give Monmouth-Roseville and United the ability to use facilities tax funds to hire either mental health professionals or a school resource officer. There are no plans for us to share a resource officer, I don’t even know if United would be interested in a school resource officer, but Monmouth-Roseville is interested. Since we have two districts in the county, the voters have to decide whether we can use those funds that way.”

Early voting is going on now at the Warren County Courthouse up until Election Day, Tuesday April 1st.
