West Central Heat Baseball Leaning on Experience in 2025

Share

The West Central Heat baseball team won one game all of 2024 under, then, new head coach Ross Parcel. The Heat have already won a game this season, an opening day victory against Bushnell-Prairie City. Parcel says the Heat baseball program is taking steps forward day-by-day and it has shown already. Due, in part, to having more upper class men on the roster, which is something they haven’t had a good number of in the past several seasons. Coach Parcel has seen success and knows what it takes to build up a program, having spent time at ICS Junior High early in his career. He took the Trojans to the IESA State Championship game in 2017. He says he likes what he’s seen so far this season, mostly the day-in-day-out focus of getting better.

After a loss to Monmouth-Roseville on Thursday, the Heat are currently (1-2) overall and will get back on the diamond Friday at West Prairie and Saturday morning at Sherrard.
