United Red Storm Football Anticipating Bright Future

Story by Parker Cassidy

The United Red Storm football team wrapped up their 2025 campaign last week on the road at Princeville. The Red Storm took one on the chin in this one, trailing the Princes 32-0 at halftime. United was able to get in the end zone for its lone score in the second half but fell in Week 9 by a final of 47-8.

United finished the year at 1-8, but the Red Storm made huge strides during the season, including snapping a 16-game losing streak dating back to October of 2023 with a win at home against South Fulton in week 7. United will miss its seniors, but the program returns a strong core of underclassmen and continues to move in the right direction under second-year Head Coach Andrew Goodwin, who earned his first career head-coaching win this season.

Coach Goodwin says even though the Red Storm did not finish with a great record, major strides were taken within the program this season.

The future looks bright for United football, as the junior high squad wrapped up another phenomenal season. Combine that with the returning talent from this year’s high school group, and the Red Storm could be a team to watch when 2026 rolls around.
