Amelia Cleone Rosenberry, 86, of rural Abingdon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at home.

She was born September 16, 1938, in Galesburg, the daughter of Albert and Ruth F. (Williams) Carlson. She married Roger R. Rosenberry on December 11, 1960, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1991, after more than 30 years of marriage.

She is survived by her children, Raymond E. (Jennifer Walker) Rosenberry of Peoria and Ruth Ann (Mark) Brown of rural Abingdon; grandchildren, Thomas (Ashley) Brock and Jonathan Brock, both of Abingdon, Josiah Rosenberry of Eagan, Minnesota, and Naomi Rosenberry of Galesburg; six step grandchildren; and great grandchildren, Sylar, Everly, Eden, and Eli. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and cousins she was raised with, John, Carl, and Charles Carlson.

Amelia was raised in rural East Galesburg. She graduated from Knoxville High School and Brown’s Business College. She worked as a secretary for Gale Products before devoting time to raising her family. Later, Amelia owned and operated Pastries Plus, worked at Raritan State Bank, was a school lunch lady, and then a CNA at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was an active member of New Harvest Church. She was a devoted volunteer at the Galesburg Rescue Mission. Amelia was a member of the Home Extension, the garden club, and was a Master Gardener. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking skills and her baking, especially pies. She loved her farm.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at New Harvest Church. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ric Fritz officiating. Private family burial will be on the family farm. Memorial contributions may be made to New Harvest Church or the Galesburg Rescue Mission. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Abingdon is honored to serve the family.
