Liberta (Long) Taylor, 95, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Bickford Assisted Living of Macomb. She was born July 2, 1929, in Salem, Iowa, the daughter of Grover Jay and Luella (Miller) Long. She was raised and educated in Salem, graduating from Salem High School in 1948. She later graduated from the Protestant Hospital of Nursing in Burlington, Iowa with the class of 1952.
She married Paul Conrad Taylor on February 21, 1953, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2019.
Those left to cherish her memory are; one daughter, Teresa Kennedy; grandsons, Jason (Desiray) Taylor, Paul Marr, and James Marr; and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Timothy Mark Taylor and her siblings.
Liberta was employed as a registered nurse for the state of Illinois Zeller’s Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Roseville American Legion Women’s Auxiliary for several years. She was a member of the Roseville Baptist Church where she played the organ for services. She enjoyed watching birds and other wildlife and being in nature.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Roseville Baptist Church. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Roseville Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
