Story by Parker Cassidy
After the past week of games, the Monmouth Roseville Baseball team currently holds an overall record of 5-7 and 1-3 in TRAC West Division play. The Titans have one of the younger squads in the area with only 4 Seniors on the roster but that doesn’t stop them from competing night-in, night-out. Last Wednesday, the Titans played host to Bushnell-Prairie CIty. The Titans poured it on in this one, beating the Spartans 12-3. Max Ferguson picks up the win on the mound, only allowing three hits and striking out seven. Ferguson was also 2-for-4 at the plate with two rbis. The Titans had a quick turnaround to make the trip to Riverdale for the final game of their 2-game series. Monmouth-Roseville was only able to muster one hit, via Nick Huston in the first Inning, as Titans fall 10-0 to the Rams. Fast Forward to Monday, the Titans headed to Orion for a very windy TRAC West matchup. Monmouth got the scoring started early and often in this one, scoring 11 runs in the first 3 innings. The Titans ran across another 6 runs in the top of the 6th to help secure a 17-5 victory in 6 innings. Monmouth-Roseville was on the road again Tuesday taking on a solid Alleman Pioneers squad. The Titans fell behind early and couldn’t recover. Titans lose 18-8 to the Pioneers. Keegan Smith had a solid day at the plate contributing a hit and 3 rbis in the losing effort. Head Coach Mike Huston previews a busy week ahead for Monmouth-Roseville Baseball.
Monmouth Roseville will be at home tomorrow to try complete a season sweep of Orion. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 at Sunny Lane Field.
