Richard S. “Rick” Levine, 74, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Genesis Medical Center in Aledo, IL.

Rick was born on September 6, 1950, in Monmouth, the son of Wendell and Shirley J. (Smith) Levine. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1968, later attending Monmouth College.

Rick served with the Illinois Army National Guard for 6 years.

Rick married Kathy Bickell in Monmouth on December 23, 1984, and she survives.

Rick worked as the Monmouth Township Supervisor for 21 years before retiring in 2015.

He loved to play golf, watch the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and his grandsons’ many sporting events. He also enjoyed vacationing with his family and friends. Rick was known to enjoy his Diet Pepsi.

Survivors include his wife; his stepsons, Brian (Trisha Jennings) Armstrong of Arizona, Robert (Carrie) Armstrong of Monmouth; grandsons, Aiden (Dailenis) Armstrong, Brady Armstrong and Jaxon Armstrong; his great granddaughter, Vanessa Armstrong; his sisters, Wendy J. (Norman “Butch”) Pinney, Linda L. (Randy) Seals, and Mary L. Schuytema, all of Monmouth, 3 nephews and 3 nieces.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell Levine and Shirley Fullerton.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 4:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, with a Military Honors Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Monmouth Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Legion and sent to the funeral home.
