Story by Parker Cassidy

Patrick Curry, a student and track and field athlete at Monmouth College, recently completed his first sports media internship with us here at Prairie Communications in early May. Throughout the course of his internship, Curry demonstrated a strong passion for sports media. During his time with Prairie Communications, Curry had the oppurtunity to join me on the call for a Monmouth-Roseville girls’ basketball game, where he gained on air experience as well as insight into live sports commentary. Curry also spent time with the PCSN team in the press box during football season, where he learned and participated in all of the behind the scenes activities that go into a live broadcast. In addition to his broadcasting experience, Curry also conducted a series of interviews with different athletes at Monmouth College. With his first internship now under his belt, Curry is more motivated than ever to pursue a career in sports media.
