No Injuries Reported During Accidental Structure Fire

The Galesburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 844 & 846 E. Main Street yesterday morning, May 14, 2025, at 10:50 a.m. The response included all three stations and the 11 personnel on duty. Upon arrival, fire crews encountered smoke showing from a large shed located at the rear of the property. Battalion Chief Jim Pendergast established command, and the Brooks Street Fire Crew made entry with an attack hose line and extinguished the fire located in the attic space of the structure. No occupants or pets were found within the building. No injuries were reported.

An emergency callback of off-duty personnel was initiated to provide emergency coverage to the city. The attic space sustained fire and smoke damage. This fire has been ruled accidental.
