Patricia A. Simpson, 80, of Oquawka, IL, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 21, 1944 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Richard E. and Erma Shaw.  Pat was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Union High School in 1963. 

Pat married Clyde W. “Rusty” Simpson on May 20, 1966 in Biggsville, IL; he preceded her in death on March 17, 2015. 

Pat worked at Admiral/Maytag in Galesburg for over 30 years until her retirement.  She was a member of the Oquawka Eagles Club and the Red Hat Society.  Pat enjoyed trivia game shows.  She loved the color purple and to collect flamingos and Betty Boop memorabilia.  Pat enjoyed listening to her grandson play the guitar. 

Surviving Pat is one son, Jeff (Sandra) Simpson of Oquawka, IL; one grandson, Rusty W.V. Simpson of Jacksonville, FL; her nieces, Tami Butler, Angie Peterson, Cindy Fedler, Paula Young; her nephew, Joe Colley; and close friends, Dennis & Linda Reeves. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Sandra K. Huff.Cremation rites have been accorded.  No visitation or service is planned.  Memorials can be made to the Oquawka Toy Drive and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
