Gertrude A. “Gert” Hart, 84, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth.

Gert was born September 12, 1940 in Aledo, IL the daughter of Frank B. and Margaretta L. (Robb) Decker. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High school in 1954.

Gert married Donald D. Hart on February 18, 1966 at the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth and he passed away on March 13, 2021.

She was the Chief Medical Records Technician for over 50 years first with Community Memorial Hospital and later OSF Holy Family Medical Center.

Gert’s main focus was her family and friends.  She loved going to classmate dinners, racing with family, working in her yard, her flowers and being a proud military family.

Survivors include her sons, Eric (Judy) Hart of Roseville and Tyson (Kristin Rowley) Hart of Oquawka; step-son, Dan Hart of Galesburg, IL; her grandchildren, Sydney Hart; 4 step-grandchildren; several step- great-grandchildren; her sister, Joanne L. Bennett; brothers, John (Rudeana) Decker and Donald (Cassie) Decker all of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-son, Donald Hart Jr.; sister, Marjorie Linze.

The Hart family would like to give special thanks to Linda Taylor and Judy Slater for the wonderful care and lifelong friendship that they had with Gert.

Cremation has been accorded.  A private family service will be held.  Memorials may be given to the Gertrude A. Hart Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
