The Galesburg American Legion Post 285 baseball team is participating in a highly competitive tournament in Crawfordsville, Indiana this weekend. The tournament started on Thursday with pool play. Galesburg falls to Evansville Post 8 10-0 in four innings in the opener. Galesburg was held to two hits in the game. Post 285 played back-to-back on night one, taking on the tournament hosts, Crawfordsville Post 72 in the nightcap. Galesburg jumps out to a 2-0 lead in their first at bat but could not hold on to the lead, eventually losing 7-3. Post 285 had another tough time at the plate in game two, only garnering three total hits. Galesburg, now (15-6) overall, will play one more pool play game on Friday at 5:30 against the Peoria Legion Pirates. Peoria also lost both of their contests on Thursday. Bracketed play begins on Saturday, with the semifinals and championship games on Sunday.
