At the recent Monmouth City Council Meeting, Wastewater Superintendent Bill Hart was recognized for his 35 years of service to Monmouth, shares Public Works Director Brayden Bledsoe:
“Bill works at the wastewater plant and is our Wastewater Superintendent. He has been here for 35 years. He holds that top wastewater license in the state of Illinois, permitting him to operate the plant, do all the paperwork for EPA. Anybody can stick around for 35 years, but Bill has made a true positive impact in the 35 years he has been out there. We are not necessarily at optimal staffing, of course we would love to have 20 guys out there, but Bill manages to run it with himself and three employees.”
Additionally, Bledsoe reports that through Hart’s operation, the City of Monmouth was nominated for Plant of the Year with the Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators.
